I might be going crazy

So, our standard of living has dropped significantly over the past few weeks.
Life is just kind of crazy.
We're surrounded by boxes (and things waiting in not-so-neatly-stacked piles to be put in boxes), and the combination of bare walls and unsightly box mounds had me feeling a bit nuts.
So, I rearranged the living room furniture. Of course! Don't all people rearrange furniture just a couple weeks before they move?
And, I have to say, I LOVE IT!

I wanted to arrange our furniture like this when we first moved in, but our old couch was too big to fit across the room like this, so I had to get a little creative with the awkward L-shaped space. It finally hit me last night that our new couch is much smaller, and I felt a little inspired to do something other than pack.

These pictures also showcase a couple of new craigslist finds I've purchased lately. New accent table (which is currently being used as a coffee table) and a lovely chess table with two chairs. They were both a steal of a deal!

So. I did this to keep me from going insane. (Well, that's what I'm telling myself to justify rearranging the furniture just weeks before we load it into a truck!)

And, to keep it real, whenever I'm photographing pictures of my clean house, there is almost always a mess around the corner. :)

And now, back to the crazy!

Study Break

Study break silliness...

Our lives pretty much revolve around this beast of an exam.
Never have I seen a man work so diligently, pushing through and pressing onward, regardless of how boring (or overwhelming!) the information he is studying happens to be.
He is constantly finding clever ways to spend time with us, despite the fact that the exam date keeps creeping closer!
I am unbelievably proud.

And, my own ability to pronounce seven-syllable words has increased abundantly; a helpful skill when, if you want Hubby to go on a walk with you, you are required to read medical facts to him as he pushes the stroller... :)

July 8th, you can't get here fast enough!

Board Prep

Just learning about the role that the anti cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody plays in the early diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Asher will sit and watch anything if he gets to do it with Daddy!

Snuggles and studies, all rolled into one!

[I think we should all get a degree once medical school is over!]

Storm

God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.

Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break
In blessings on your head.

A storm is coming.
I love the way storms offer a sampling of our God's massive power in a way that is impossible to ignore.

Magnificent.

Happy, albeit wet...

Happiness is...

Stumbling upon a mass of wild blooming roses on an evening walk with your oldest son, dashing home to grab a basket and shears, running through new falling rain and laughing as the two of you gather their prickly stems in a scurry, stopping to taste (wet) honeysuckle nectar as you dance back to the house, and then drying off and marveling in their delicate scent and simple beauty as they adorn your lovely new table.

Happy indeed!

And another variety of rainy-day happiness has been going on over here, too...

Splish, splash!
